Saalio® AX, DE, or 3-in-1: Which Device Is Right for You?
If you have decided that iontophoresis is the right treatment for you, the next decision is which Saalio® model to choose. The differences come down to which areas of the body you are treating. Here is a clear breakdown. All three models run the same core iontophoresis process; what changes from one to the next is the electrode setup and which areas of the body each is built to treat, so the right pick is mostly a question of where you sweat.
Saalio® DE: For Hands and Feet
The Saalio® DE (Dermal Edition) is designed for treating palmar hyperhidrosis (sweaty hands) and plantar hyperhidrosis (sweaty feet). It comes with two treatment basins, foam inserts, silicone electrodes, and connection cables.
Sessions treat one pair of limbs at a time: both hands in one session, or both feet in a separate session. The Saalio® Hands and Feet Iontophoresis Device (DE Set) is the right choice if your main areas of concern are your hands, your feet, or both. Because it treats one pair of limbs per session, a typical routine alternates hands and feet across the week when you are treating both.
Saalio® AX: For Underarms
The Saalio® AX (Axillary Edition) is configured specifically for underarm hyperhidrosis. It uses flexible, absorbent sponge electrode pouches that are soaked in water and positioned comfortably against the underarms. The design accounts for the shape and sensitivity of the axilla.
The Saalio® Underarm Iontophoresis Device (AX Set) is the right choice if excessive underarm sweating is your primary or sole concern. The sponge pouches are a consumable you replace over time rather than a fixed part, which keeps underarm sessions quick to set up.
Saalio® 3-in-1: For Multiple Areas
The Saalio® 3-in-1 Iontophoresis System includes all the components from both the DE and AX sets, giving you the ability to treat hands, feet, and underarms with a single device. It is the most versatile option, and the best choice if:
- You sweat excessively from more than one area
- You are unsure which area is your main concern and want to cover all bases from the start
- You want maximum flexibility as your needs change over time
From a cost perspective, the 3-in-1 is also more economical than buying the DE and AX sets separately.
Price and Warranty
All Saalio® devices include a four-year manufacturer warranty, handled locally by SudorCure with no overseas returns required. That makes the investment a reliable long-term one. Pricing for each model is available at sudorcure.com. Because the warranty is serviced here in Australia, you are not shipping a device overseas or waiting weeks if you ever need support.
Setting Up and Getting Started
Setup is straightforward for all three models. The Saalio® arrives with a detailed user manual covering first-session setup, current settings, and the full treatment protocol. The DE Set involves filling the trays with tap water and placing the foam inserts before you submerge your hands or feet. The AX Set involves soaking the sponge electrode pouches and positioning them against both underarms at once.
For first-time users, starting at 1 to 3 mA and building gradually is the recommended approach regardless of model. The device supports both direct current and pulsed current modes, with pulsed the gentler starting point for anyone with sensitive skin. The AUTO setting, which alternates current direction mid-session, is recommended from Phase 2 onward.
Still Not Sure Which to Choose?
If you are genuinely uncertain which model suits you, the Saalio® Hire Program is a practical way to find out. Trialling a device for 3 or 4 weeks gives you firsthand experience of the treatment and helps clarify which areas respond and how well, and many hire customers go on to purchase within the 30-day credit window.
You are also welcome to email us at hello@sudorcure.com. Just tell us which areas you are dealing with and how severely, and we will point you toward the right device. As a rule of thumb: hands and feet, the DE Set; underarms only, the AX Set; both or genuinely uncertain, the 3-in-1 is the most practical and economical starting point.
A common example: someone whose main concern is sweaty hands often realises, once they think about it, that their feet are affected too, and the DE Set covers both. If underarms are also in the picture, the 3-in-1 covers all three areas and saves buying a second device later.
Whichever device you choose, the routine tends to become lighter over time. Iontophoresis maintenance is usually about one 15 to 20 minute session a week, and many people find they can go weeks between sessions as their response builds.
