Iontophoresis machines in Australia, with local support.
An iontophoresis machine lets you treat sweaty hands, feet or underarms at home with tap water and a gentle current. Compare the three Saalio® devices in AUD, or hire one first and see how you respond.

What is an iontophoresis machine?
An iontophoresis machine is a small control unit that passes a mild current through tap water to the skin of the hands, feet or underarms. Over a course of regular sessions, it disrupts the nerve signals that switch on the sweat glands in that area, so they produce less sweat.
Tap water iontophoresis has been used for hyperhidrosis for decades. It’s drug-free, non-invasive and designed for home use, so once your routine is set up, you treat on your own schedule.
Who is an ionto machine for?
An ionto machine is designed for primary hyperhidrosis of the hands, feet and underarms, the sweating that usually starts in childhood or the early teens. If those are the areas that hold you back, it’s the treatment to consider once a strong antiperspirant is no longer enough.
It isn’t designed for sweating all over the body, night sweats or menopausal hot flushes. For those, a clinical-strength antiperspirant such as SudorGuard is the better fit.
Iontophoresis isn’t suitable for everyone, including people with a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator, or during pregnancy. The Saalio® instructions for use list every contraindication.
Saalio® is a Class IIa medical device included in the ARTG (496206). Always read the label and follow the directions for use.
Instructions for use and guidesWhat should you look for in iontophoresis equipment?
Iontophoresis equipment varies a lot, and the price tells you less than the details do. The best iontophoresis machine for you treats the areas you need, is included in the ARTG, and has someone local to ask. Before you buy an iontophoresis machine in Australia, check these six things.
Included in the ARTG
A medical device supplied in Australia should be included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. Ask for the ARTG number. The Saalio® range is ARTG 496206.
Tap water only
You shouldn’t need special solutions or medicines. The Saalio® works with ordinary tap water.
Direct and pulsed current
Direct current is the setting to start with. Pulsed current is gentler, for sensitive skin. The Saalio® offers both.
Automatic direction change
Changing the current direction treats both sides evenly. The Saalio® AUTO setting does it for you, halfway through each session.
The right electrodes
Hands and feet need water trays. Underarms need soaked sponge electrodes that sit comfortably in the armpit.
Warranty and local support
Saalio® control units carry a four-year warranty, and help comes from our Australian team by email.
How do the Saalio® devices compare?
All three Saalio® iontophoresis machines use the same control unit and the same settings. The difference is which areas each set is made to treat, so choose by where you sweat. Not sure? Our guide to choosing between the AX, DE and 3-in-1 walks you through it.

Using an iontophoresis machine at home.
Each session takes about 15 to 20 minutes. For hands and feet, you rest them in shallow trays of tap water. For underarms, you hold a soaking-wet sponge electrode in each armpit. You set the time and current, and the device ramps the current up gently and back down at the end.
In the initial phase, you treat at least every second day, or daily if your skin tolerates it, for at least 15 minutes per area. A first reduction is usually noticeable after 10 to 14 days, and a further 3 to 4 weeks of the same routine typically brings sweating down to the level you want.
After that, maintenance is typically once a week for 15 to 20 minutes, and some people can go weeks between treatments as their response builds over time.
The Saalio® instructions for use cover technique, suitability and contraindications in full.

Can’t see your question? Email hello@sudorcure.com, tell us where you sweat and what you’ve already tried, and we’ll help you choose.
How much does an iontophoresis machine cost in Australia?
The Saalio® AX Set (underarms) is $1,245 AUD, the DE Set (hands and feet) is $1,345 AUD, and the 3-in-1 System is $1,495 AUD. Standard shipping within Australia is free.
You can also hire a device for three weeks ($250 AUD) or four weeks ($300 AUD), and the full hire fee comes off the price if you buy within 30 days of your hire ending.
Can I claim an iontophoresis machine on my health fund?
It depends on your fund and your level of cover, so it’s worth checking with them first. We can provide a tax invoice for you to submit. Saalio® devices aren’t covered by Medicare.
What does iontophoresis feel like?
Most people feel a mild tingling. You control the current, and it should be noticeable but never painful. If direct current feels too strong even at a low setting, you can switch to pulsed current, which is gentler.
How long does an iontophoresis machine take to work?
A first reduction is usually noticeable after 10 to 14 days of sessions at least every second day. A further 3 to 4 weeks of the same routine typically brings sweating down to the level you want. Individual results vary, so consistency matters more than turning the current up.
How often do I use it once it’s working?
Maintenance is typically once a week for 15 to 20 minutes, and some people can go weeks between treatments as their response builds over time.
Can I use an antiperspirant as well?
Yes. Iontophoresis is effective on its own, and some people like to add SudorGuard on certain days or for areas they aren’t treating. If you’re treating your underarms, leave antiperspirant off them for at least five days before an underarm session.
Who should check before using one?
Iontophoresis must not be used by people with a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator, during pregnancy, or with metal implants in the path of the current, among other contraindications. Children up to 6 shouldn’t have their hands or feet treated, and children up to 12 shouldn’t have their underarms treated. Teenagers should use it with an adult supervising. The full list is in the Saalio® instructions for use.
Do you ship iontophoresis machines to New Zealand?
Yes. Saalio® devices can be bought and shipped to New Zealand, with shipping calculated at checkout. New Zealand Customs may charge GST and processing fees on higher-value orders, and these aren’t included in our prices. The hire program is available within Australia only.
What warranty comes with the Saalio®?
The Saalio® control unit comes with a four-year warranty from the date of delivery. Foam inserts and sponge pouches are wear parts and aren’t covered. We handle warranty claims locally through hello@sudorcure.com.
